I like hats, I wear a lot of them:
designer, artist, business mentor, creativity coach, explorer, maker, writer, creative swiss army knife, lover of all things analogue, champion of self expression & one of the wilder ones.
When it comes down to it, I'm all about living wildly, loving deeply & creating daily.
how do I spend my days?
When I'm not wandering in the woods, going on adventures with my besties, making all the things or drinking coffee and devouring books, I do fun stuff like...
the other stuff:
Creativity is my jam. I'm obsessed with it. There is few things I love more than making cool shit, talking about making cool shit and helping other people make cool shit. I'm into it.
What are you into? Want help making it?
Okay, but for realz now.
designing businesses, brands + websites
to be a true expression of the glorious soul at the centre of them (you). Our lives, businesses and brands are our art and soul, embodied in the world. When they are not a true expression of us, we feel out of integrity and usually not too excited about our work. One of my zones of genius is helping heart-centred entrepreneurs - like you - craft their lives, businesses, brands and websites to be the truest expressions of them.
I love working with the wilder ones, the bold and creative entrepreneurs and who want to make the world a more wonderful place by using their superpowers for good AND craft a life of adventure and awesomeness while doing it. If this is you, I can lend you my powerhouse coaching, biz know-how, amazeballs design savvy and general creative wizardry to help you get clear on your vision for the next stage of your business and then bring that vision to life. Then you get to go out and make the world a more wonderful place and feel more free while you do it.
And it might even be fun (gasp?!)
If you're feeling all "OMG YES PLEASE!??" or even "hmmmmm, this sounds interesting, I want to know more..." it all starts with a conversation. We'll connect, we can both ask all our questions and see if we'll be a good fit.
traveling the world or nesting at "home"
I am a nomad. I split my time between living in the woods in British Columbia, Canada, and travelling the world with my wardrobe in one suitcase and my mobile art studio/office in the other.
Taking a step back from our hyper-connected, carefully curated, "always on" culture is something that I've been craving, thinking about and struggling with for a while. As an entrepreneur who runs her business via the internet, I've been grappling with my inner yearnings for a life without screens and my need to make money to feed myself and do fun things. I've been telling myself the story "I have to stay on Facebook, otherwise I'll never get clients." Even though I knew that line was a load of crap and the some of the very people I admired most in this industry - like Alexandra Franzen - have built exceptional businesses and are not on social media.
It was the convergence of a personal health crisis, a seriously bad winter in the mental health department and reading my dear friend Cait Flanders' new book The Year of Less (a memoir based around a year long shopping ban that she did - and a thoughtful examination of her personal patterns of unconscious consumption) that finally had me own up to my crap, stop making excuses for my unconscious consumption of the internet/screens and start changing the way I lived, worked, created and connected.
So, on April 1st, 2018, I quietly started a year long experiment to see how far I could go into slower, analogue living while still running my business online. I'm calling this experiment the Analogue Adventure.
You can follow along on my newsletter (sign up below) as I navigate the world without a smart phone, attempt to write stuff with a typewriter and learn how to be bored again.
i'm writing a book
and designing it using 100% analogue methods. This is one of the many mini-experiments in my Analogue Adventure and is my #100dayproject that I'm working on from April 3rd-July 12th 2018.
This project started as a book, but has morphed into something else entirely. I cannot wait to share it with you! You can hop on the news letter if you want to hear updates on this and all my other projects.
there's only one way
Earlier this year I decided to massively simplify my online life by leaving social media!
It has been a revelation my friends. It may not be forever, but for now, if you want to see and hear what I’m up to (and where the heck I am in the world) you can hop on my mailing list.
I’m currently playing with a new format I’m calling "WHAT UP?” where I send a weekly(ish) update on what I’m learning, loving and making right meow.
